Game Description

Sxyzm is designed with an advancement system that modifies rules and spaces on game iterations for more challenging and energetic gameplay dynamics. The goal is to have players customize gameplay into their own unique and/or enjoyable style.

Players start on Tier 1 on the basic side (Board B) of the game board at the beginning of the game. A player rolls a six-sided die to move their game piece along in a race to be the first to the finish line. Once the first game is completed players can select to move on to Tier 2. Tier 2 replaces the six-sided die with a deck of Color Cards, while the other rules remain the same. The deck consists of ten different color cards symbolizing the ten different color spaces on the game board. Players draw one card from the deck and place face up in the discard pile. Then, player moves his or her game piece to the next game space of that color. Over time, additional game spaces and rules become active.

Additional rules come in:
  • Sxyzm Cards allow the player to unleash unusual abilities on the his or her opponent;
  • Opponent Obstacles where players on the same game space stack, the bottom player loses his or her turn until the top player moves;
  • Moving Stacks where stacks of more than three players move around the game board as a single unit;
  • Player Movements Scheme that allows players to move other players game pieces in addition to his or her own;
  • Gameplay Movement Scheme, modifies the method by which players can move a game piece (dice, cards, both, etc.).
Where early tiers are roll a six-sided die or draw and flip a card, later tiers start dealing out the cards to give players more strategy.

Overall, there are 7 billion rule variants. The Tiers are ordered for consistent growth in gameplay difficulty. The Reference Guide contains 16 Gameplay Tiers and 5 Custom Tiers to give players a large amount of possibilities. The Reference Guide is 84+ pages, so the game arrives with a smaller Beginner's Guide with 3 Tiers.

Tier 16 (Masters) is a two player head-to-head match where each player starts with 5 game pieces and looks to eliminate or finish prior to the opponent.
